The Environmental Commissioner of Ontario (ECO) recently released their 2017 Environmental Protection Report. The role of the ECO is to examine priority environmental issues and report to the public (and Ontario legislature) on the status of the government’s actions towards achieving environmental protection. The report titled Good Choices, Bad Choices: Environmental Rights and Environmental Protection in Ontario contains recommendations on the aggregate industry focussed particularly on the use of recycled aggregate, rehabilitation and on the need for incremental studies.
