Each year, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) hosts a conference that brings together thousands of municipal leaders, staff and delegates for three days’ worth of networking, concurrent sessions and plenary programming. In 2024, OSSGA had the privilege of not only attending the conference but sponsoring as well.
This event provided a significant platform for our association to engage with key stakeholders and further the conversation around the importance of the aggregate industry in Ontario. Our presence was marked by a series of successful events and two days on the tradeshow floor, solidifying our commitment to advocating for the essential role that stone, sand, and gravel play in the province's infrastructure and community development.
OSSGA and the Top Aggregate Producing Municipalities of Ontario (TAPMO) share a vital partnership aimed at fostering collaboration between aggregate producers and municipalities. This relationship is crucial as it bridges the gap between the industry's need for sustainable aggregate extraction and municipalities' focus on land use, infrastructure, and community well-being.
OSSGA believes that by working together, OSSGA and TAPMO can ensure that aggregate resources are managed responsibly and effectively to support Ontario's economic growth, infrastructure development, and environmental stewardship, while addressing municipal priorities and public concerns.
